Cybersecurity Innovation Day 2024: A Triumph of Innovation and Collaboration

Cybersecurity Innovation Day 2024: A Triumph of Innovation and Collaboration

With a vibrant gathering of over 500 attendees, the CyberSG Talent, Innovation, and Growth (TIG) Collaboration Centre (TIG Centre) took centre stage at the highly anticipated Cybersecurity Innovation Day 2024. One of the highlight of the event was the launch of the CyberCall 2024 (November edition), officially announced by Mr. David Koh, Chief Executive of the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA). This marks the second CyberCall initiative of the year by TIG Centre, a collaborative effort between the National University of Singapore (NUS) and CSA, aimed at advancing cybersecurity innovation.

Another highlight of the event was the engaging panel discussion, featuring no-holds-barred sharing by cybersecurity CISOs and VCs (Xiao Hua Fu, Justin Ong, Eng Choon Goh and K T Wan). Here are some key insights from the candid discussion:
💡 Problem-Solving Precision: Startups should hone in on the specific problems they can solve and differentiate themselves clearly. Avoid over-promising and focus on realistic goals to build trust and credibility.
🤝 Collaborative Ecosystem: Embrace programmes like CyberCall to step out of echo chambers. Engaging with a broader ecosystem allows companies to adopt innovative solutions and stay ahead in managing cybersecurity risks.
💪 Building Resilience: Shifting the focus from prevention to resilience ensures fast recovery from breaches. Leveraging AI to misdirect adversaries and targeting underserved markets can boost overall defense.

Celebrating Success: CyberCall 2023 Achievements

The event also celebrated the remarkable success of CyberCall 2023, where seven outstanding companies were recognised for their outstanding contributions to cybersecurity innovations. Congratulations to pQCee, Cloudsine Pte Ltd, Ensign InfoSecurity, MetaTrust Labs, ST Engineering (Info-Security), ST Engineering IHQ, and Veracity Trust Network for securing up to S$4 million in funding! Their innovative solutions are set to enhance cyber resilience and empower organisations globally.

Empowering Cyber Defenders: A Message from Leadership

Mr. Christopher Chen, Executive Director of TIG Centre, emphasised the critical role of the CyberCall initiative in his remarks:

“Cyber adversaries hold an unfair advantage, outpacing defenders with greater resources and time. CyberCall helps level the playing field by uniting public and private sector expertise to tackle real-world challenges and accelerate viable cybersecurity solutions. Singapore is the ideal hub for this initiative because through collaboration, we enable the best solutions and technologies to be deployed quickly. CyberCall also allows us to collaborate globally in securing our digital future.”

Join the Movement

As CyberCall continues to drive cybersecurity innovation, TIG Centre remains committed to fostering global collaboration and deploying cutting-edge solutions swiftly and effectively. The second run launched consists of two categories: the Open Call category and the User Driven category.
