The SG Cyber Talent Development Fund encourages communities, associations, and industry partners to develop initiatives that engage, upskill, or advance the cybersecurity workforce. The SG Cyber Talent Development Fund seeks to support three tiers of projects, namely:
Tier 1: Community Projects
- Programmes aimed at fostering engagement, collaboration, and learning within the cybersecurity community. These initiatives prioritise hands-on interaction among participants, providing opportunities for practical activities and offer impactful learning experiences. Examples include mentorship or career sharing events.
- Awarded projects to receive funding support of up to 80% of supportable costs or $6,000 (whichever lower), for project durations of up to 6 months.
- Items supportable under Tier 1: Training materials, salary cost of trainer/staff up to 3 days, marketing, cost of software/platform during event period, venue rental and refreshments during event period.
Tier 2: Skills Development
- Programmes are dedicated to advancing cybersecurity skills through innovative methods where participants engage in skill development through hands-on challenges and assessments. Examples include technical workshops, capture-the-flag competitions and boot camps.
- Awarded projects to receive funding support of up to 80% of supportable costs or $20,000 (whichever lower), for project durations of up to 12 months.
- Items supportable under Tier 2: Training materials, salary cost of trainer/staff up to 1 month, marketing, cost of software/platform during event period, venue rental and refreshments during event period.
Tier 3: Training and Job Placement (open to Singapore-registered organisations only)
- Programmes dedicated to new and innovative methods of training and job placement in the cybersecurity field. These programmes aim to achieve strong outcomes for participants by utilising innovative delivery methods and training plans aligned to relevant frameworks. Examples include immersive on-the-job training and conversion programmes.
- Awarded projects to receive funding support of up to 80% of supportable costs or $90,000 (whichever lower), for project durations of up to 12 months.
- Items supportable under Tier 3 projects: Training materials, salary cost of trainer/staff up to 1 month, marketing, cost of software/platform during event period, venue rental and refreshments during event period.
Note: All supportable costs submitted are subject to evaluation and CSA’s final approval.
Qualifying Criteria
- This fund is open to Singaporeans and Singapore PRs and all organisations who are Singapore-registered.
- If you are below the age of 18, please apply through the current educational institution you are enrolled in, or through the teacher overseeing your project.
- If you are part of a community that is not registered in Singapore, you may apply on behalf of your community. However, you will not be able to submit a proposal for Tier 3 Training and Job Placement projects.
Submission details
- Applications for the fund will open every quarterly with evaluation and notice of award estimated to take approximately two months. Therefore, applicants are advised to submit their projects before minimally 4 months before the date of the project/event/programme. Should your project fall beyond the stated timeline approval is subject to suitability of project and availability of funding.
